Well, this weekend was the big weekend for DDR players in all of NY, the two day tournament with five divisions. The whole thing was a fun and amazing event. Granted, I didn't go far at all, but just seeing the plain awesomeness that I have never seen in person before was a great experience. The mods division was one of the most creative things I have ever seen, where depending on the card picked by one of the players there was a set of mods to be used and/or a goal to accomplish. Some goals and challenges included great attacking, playing with your hands only, and lowest passing combo. Technick definetly showed his amazing skill in the game by not only winning the division, but getting a combo of 4 on the lowest passing combo challenge. It went to the ironman division next which is designed to test stanima. The object of this was to get as far as you could, with two courses spanning five songs each with simple mods applied. Only Technick and Jiri got past the first course, and both of them got through the second. So to follow the courses, the Legend Road oni course was to be used as a tie breaker, and that's where scores mattered. Technick put up a good fight, but tried too hard to rack up AAs and such so he fell before Jiri, who was smart through the courses to only pass and went on longer in Legend Road. Doubles was next up with some great performances, though I can't remember who won. I spend the night over at Tooch's place and Sunday started off with perfect attack. Over 40 people attempted to enter this division, such a great turnout. Two brackets were made for expert and regular segments, and it went through very well with some more excellent performances. I missed freestyle sadly, so hopefully there will be videos of some up soon. Overall a great time despite not getting too far, but if anything this inspires me to keep practicing to get to that level and be able to compete.

After the tourney, I had earlier agreed to help out with cleaning night at the bell, to be followed by drinking at my place with Mike and Becky. However due to his father not letting him for various reasons, Mike wasn't able to follow through with the plans, so for a second time we had to postpone our drinking night, which hopefully we can get happening before school starts back up for them.

Today was a pretty good day, despite me being at my parents' since I said I'd help open tomorrow since we fired someone and just needed those two hours covered for the opening. When our checks get sent to us, certain notices and such are sent with them if need be. While I'm eagerly awaiting my W-2 forms to file for my tax return, they weren't in for either job, but something we got at the bell was just as good. What came with the checks today was a listing of employees who have earned vacation hours for the year, and I can proudly say that I am getting vacation hours for the first time ever. ^_^ I've got 25 vacation hours for the year, so I've decided that I'm going to use them during my Otakon trip that's been in planning and been worked on for months now. I'm just so happy right now that I'm going on a trip this year and won't be taking that a big hit because of it. ^_^
