    Time Event
    6:01p
    maybe 2004 will end better than I thought...
    An update on my school situation and my parents, I sent them an e-mail earlier this week explaining everything. I got a response last night that I shocked them with the news and they felt bad that I felt the need to lie to them about everything for so long. They said that I have to do what's right for me, and that they're there for me no matter what. So I feel a lot better now about everything and aren't scared to face them anymore. That's a huge weight lifted off of my shoulders.

    Christmas was good for me. I ended up getting a DS, Super Mario 64 DS, Mario vs. Donkey Kong, F-Zero GP Legend, a stack of DVD-Rs, a calendar, car registration (when I buy a car), some money, candy, a shot glass (from Jeff), a year subscription to Nintendo Power (also from Jeff), and a snow shovel and brush (from Jess). I think I did pretty well, don't know why I still get so much (especially the past few years) but I can't complain getting spoiled for this one day each year. ^^;;;

    Since I didn't get a DVD burner (I got the DVD-R stack since there was a good Staples rebate for it, but the DVD burners were gone when we were there Black Friday morning, so Mom said if she saw another she'd get one, guess she didn't), I ordered one that night. It got here yesterday and I love it. I registered my DS and new games on Christmas night too, and I guess Nintendo has a promotion going on where if you have a GameCube and five games registered, you get a free Metroid Prime 2: Echoes Bonus Disc, which is a preview disc for the game. I guess the promo started in August and they still have discs left, and since I qualified for it when I entered in my new games I figured I may as well get it. Free shit is always good shit. I got another cool thingy today too, that I've had pre-ordered for a few months now. I got my first really high-quality figure, made in Japan and shipped over here finally. It's a 1/6 scale figure of Kasumi from the Dead or Alive series. I liked the pic I saw when Anime Jungle announced they were taking pre-orders for it, and decieded I'd get it since I knew I'd have extra cash by the time it was going to be released (a couple weeks ago), and I'd have to say it's worth it. It looks great and a very welcome addition to my room. ^_^ And probably any day now the Sailormoon R V8 Region 2 DVD with the season box should arrive here. Since I've had such a good day today, to make up for it knowing my luck the postman will probably try to deliver it tomorrow right after I leave for work when there won't be anyone home. But in getting today's package at least I know things can come here from Japan without any problems and that I can pickup the package whenever I can (I had to pickup the one from today, was gone for an hour and that's when they came -_-;; ).

    More on the good news front, after talking to a lot of the people who are going to (or most likely going to) Otakon with me in the past few weeks, getting opinions if I should get a hotel for two or three nights to make the trip either cheaper or less hectic, I got all three nights or no preference as responses from everyone who I was able to talk to. So I got two rooms booked for three nights in a pretty nice hotel only a couple blocks away from the con. I'm so happy I got that done finally, and this os one step closer to finally going to Otakon after so many years. ^_^ Looks like this year will end on a better note than I thought, and I'm already liking the start of 2005. While I don't know what I'll be doing tomorrow night (though right now I'm probably drinking with Steve somewhere) so I'm not sure how I'll be celebrating the new year starting, I do have another day off (Casey didn't schedule me for working the arcade today, which I'd normally care about, but I needed today off so I don't mind) on Tuesday, so I'll probably be at Carousel Mall most of the day playing DDR. There's going to be a big tournament next weekend with five tournaments over the span of two days, so I'm going to practice my doubles as much as I can Tuesday, as well as get a good feel for the pads there before the tournament. Gotta buy some DVDs on Tuesday too. ^^;;; The DDR event will have tournaments of challenge (mods and various challenges), ironman (staninma basically), freestyle, doubles perfect attack, and singles perfect attack. Out of those five, I'm going to try my hand in three of them: challenge, singles, and doubles. I've been playing doubles now and then since the beginning of summer, and have been playing them almost exclusively for the past coupe months to get pretty good at it. I can't wait for the tournament, especially with the recent changing over of the people handling it. It shoule be a lot of fun, and I've been looking forward to it for months now.

    Current Mood: complacent
