    Time Event

    yay for B'ville and Arlington!
Well, my bitterness from Friday night has left, since I was able to switch shifts for today, and get out a bit early to go see the NYSFBC championships at the Carrier Dome. Our class (LS2) was just awesome altogether, I didn't know who I would've put on top it seemed that close to me. However, when all was said and done, Baldwinsville ended up taking first place in LS2, and actually got the 5th highest score in the entire championship, which is simply fucking amazing. A great way for my brother to end his senior year with marching band, as well as the final year for our family to be involved in the program after a total of a whopping nine years.

However, as awesome as that is, one better happened when all was said and done. The highest class (LS1 aka Nationals) has been dominated by West Geneese for the past 16+ years, and I'm probably underestimating and don't feel like looking it up right now. For years, anyone involved with marching bands state-wide (outside of themselves obviously) have wanted to see them fall. Today, on the 30th anniversary of the NYSFBC championship show, West Genny has fallen. Arlington ended up beating the windcats tonight by .2 points. This is the definition of awesome, seeing them fall and Arlington finally take first after struggling for the past few years being very close. I can practically gurantee that there are celebrations going on statewide right now with this news. I'm pretty sure there's a big one going on in my backyard, the Oswego High School. They've been hoping for and working to take them off for years now and are probably amongs the happiest people in the state second only to Arlington for finally pulling it off. It's almost too bad I'm not at my place right now to join in the potential celebration, but I'm kinda glad I'm here relaxing.

What an awesome day this turned out to be. ^_^
