    Time Event
    8:06p
    grrr.... wtf?!
Ok, this is complete bullshit right here. If you check any video game site, hell, any online store, and you'll see the release date for DDR Extreme is September 21st. Actually, on most sites, the release date for it isn't shown anymore since today is the day so there's no reason to have the date posted anymore. So someone explain to me how the fuck I don't have my copy that I pre-ordered months ago in my PS2 right now enjoying it? Since I had class today, I sent Mike with my pre-order slip and the money to buy the game, and he comes home saying that EB told him toat the game comes out tomorrow, not today. What. The. Fuck.

I am completely baffled by this one. 95% of video games and DVDs are released on Tuesday, this game is said everywhere to be released on Tuesday, yet EB says that Tuesday is Wednesday this week apparently, and they're not alone. Wal-Mart doesn't have any copies ready to sell either, since I knew a couple of people from DDR Club going to Wal-Mart after they got out of class to get theirs, and I checked with one of them online, and he had no luck either. It would be one thing if the date was stated to be tomorrow and I sent Mike with the stuff for a hopeful early shipment, but this was a set date everywhere as far as I can see, EB's own site lists it for today! Someone please explain this to me, I'm lost and quite frankly, pissed. I had the living room all set up for a night of playing DDR Extreme so I could start the second Mike came in with the game, and now there's no playing going on and duct tape wasted since there's no point keeping the livingroom set up for tomorrow since tomorrow's DDR Night 2 (there's two DDR nights a week this semester) and we'll have the game there to play. So now I have no new DDR game tonight, wasted duct tape, and am pissed as this is the SECOND time in a row I've been unable to get a new DDR game the day it comes out with a pre-order. Last year the problem was DDR Ultramix for Xbox, however that can be solely blamed on the retailer. It wasn't EB, it was Microplay. I was using their monthly rental plan at the time and decided to pre-order the bundle since I was stopping by there so often to switch up my rented game. Called them the day it was supposed to come out, they said it wasn't there yet, so I was mildly annoyed. The next day, I had everything arranged to borrow a car to go pick up the game after classes, called them and still no game and obvioulsy bitched at them since it was the day after it was supposed to come. I was kinda pissed too, because once again, I had more than enough time to play it that night. I decided it wasn't worth the energy to bother them everyday and get more pissed off everyday and decided to just go pick it up on Saturday. Before going to Microplay, I checked EB to see if they had any in and they did, and told the person there I'd be back to pick it up soon. Went over to Microplay and they still didn't have it, and this time I got to have some words with the manager. He said the game wasn't supposed to be out yet, I took the pre-order date list right off the counter and pointed out the date, stated that other stores had it in already, asked for my money back, and told him that since he's sloppy in getting in games in on time, especially on the biggest holiday game release date (it came out the same day as games such as FFX2 and Mario Kart: Double Dash), that I'm never buying new games from him again.

Fast forward to 10 months later, where I have a pre-ordered copy of the new DDR, it's release date, and once again, no game. Now I know that the retailer is not completely at fault this time, since EB is run by an actual gamer who doesn't let sloppy mistakes like with Microplay happen, and I've never had a problem with EB pre-orders before, got Pokémon LeafGreen a day early from them actually. And it's not just EB not getting the game in on time this time around. But everyone has the game listed for today, which doesn't make sense, when the stores say tomorrow ehen you go to them. Why does it have to be so hard to get a DDR game the day it comes out? Seriously, Konami's distributors and video game retailers really need to communicate better for setting release dates of games and having the retailers ready to sell them on the set date. This is twice within a year I've had problems getting a game from this series on the supposed set release date, and that is a piss poor track record. Get it fucking together.

    Current Mood: pissed off
