wee! Today, I have started the shift between MOD downloader/user to MOD author. Some explnation first.
A few nights ago, I added a feature onto the SMU Admin Center to upload banner images and change which one the forums use. I manpulated the phpBB forums code and database in conjunction with the SMU Admin Center in order to pull this off. While I was doing that, I had decided that if I was able to pull it off, that I would make it my goal for the semester to write a MOD so it can fully be done with the phpBB admin panel, so other phpBB admins can change their banners with ease. Today I had the day off, and at some point, something told me to start it up. So I did, but I never thought that I would actually finish! Just a few minutes ago, I finished off all the code and proofread through the MOD instruction file I made and have submitted the complete package over at phpbb.com into their MOD database. I'm so excited and nervous about this, this is the first big block of code I've written that's I've let out for other people to use, mainly because most of my code before this was for more personal uses with my sites. I really hope that the MOD staff at phpbb.com approve it and put it up. There's no MOD like it as of yet, and I'm pretty sure that there's no problems with the code since I can use it just fine. This will be so awesome if it does get approved and put in the giant database. Here's to hoping that it does! ^__^
